What is Tavan Tinsel?

Tavan Tinsel is our way of spreading holiday cheer and showing appreciation to every single staff member at Tavan Elementary! From teachers to support staff, everyone plays a crucial role in making our school such a special place.

While it is natural to think of your student's home room teacher, we would like to show our appreciation to staff behind the scenes like the Art, Music & P.E. instructors, our front office staff and even the lunch staff and custodians.

Tavan Tinsel is all inclusive, less stress (as no other gift is needed), and it is ALWAYS greatly appreciated!

Together, we can make the holidays a little brighter for all of those who make a difference in our children's lives at Tavan!

Our plan

• Decorate campus with tinsel and the wooden ornaments sent home with students for us to display them on campus making it festive and fun!
• Collect monetary contributions to create a collective fund. This fund will then be divided among all 96 staff members and will be presented in festive packaging during the Tinsel Staff Luncheon as a token of gratitude for all they do for our children!
• Collect Gift Cards to place on our Giving Tree in the teachers’ lounge as additional give away prizes. We are seeking gift cards ranging from $20-$50 in value.

What do I do?

First, please have your student decorate and return the wooden ornament to the front office so we can use it to make campus festive! **Don’t forget to add their name & teacher

Then, consider making a monetary donation. Please keep in mind every dollar counts in making this a memorable holiday season for our hardworking Tavan team! Also, your donation is tax deductible!

There are several ways to donate and no matter how you do it, 100% of donations will be divided among ALL teachers and staff!
